Qiandao Lake Aquarium is a comprehensive tourist attraction that offers a unique blend of marine life appreciation, marine knowledge dissemination, and interactive experiences with marine animals. Visitors have the opportunity to admire 88 species of fish from Qiandao Lake, including the four major domestic fishes, and to explore the ancient city of Lion City, which has been submerged at the bottom of the lake for a millennium, as well as to appreciate the charm of Huizhou architecture.
The aquarium is organized into several distinct zones:
– Qiandao Lake Freshwater Fish Area
– Marine Reptile Area
– Marine Mollusk Area
– Marine Life Intimate Contact Area
– Tropical Marine Mangrove Wetland Area
Together, these zones showcase over 500 species of marine life, with a total of more than 2,000 individuals. The underwater tunnel provides a spectacular view of fierce sharks, manta rays gliding through the ocean, and slow-moving sea turtles.
In the marine touch zone, visitors can interact with colorful starfish, gracefully dancing sea anemones, vibrant corals, and endearing clownfish. The sunken ship exhibit offers an ethereal experience with the dance of jellyfish, the comical pufferfish, and the majestic lionfish.
The aquarium is open year-round from 09:30 to 17:00, with specific opening times subject to the on-site notice of the attraction.
