The Qiantang River was originally called Zhejiang River and also known as Zhijiang River. It originates from Huaiyu Mountain at the border between Anhui and Jiangxi provinces. With a total length of 605 kilometers, it is a river with a relatively long course and a large drainage area in Zhejiang Province. The tide of the Qiantang River, the Qiantang River Bridge, and the night views on both sides are landscapes worth seeing of the Qiantang River. The estuary of the Qiantang River is in a huge trumpet shape. The distance between the north and south banks of Hangzhou Bay is about 100 kilometers. When it reaches the Qiantang River estuary, it narrows down to 20 kilometers. Further up to Yanguan in Haining, it is only 2.5 kilometers. This river section is affected by the narrowing of the river surface and the uplift of the riverbed. The tide wave breaks violently and forms the wonderful spectacle of ‘Qiantang River Tide’. Near the Liuhe Pagoda in Xihu District, Hangzhou City, downstream of the Qiantang River, there is the famous Qiantang River Bridge. The Liuhe Pagoda on the banks of the Qiantang River is a better observation deck for overlooking the magnificent scenery of the Qiantang River. Looking into the distance from the tower, the Qiantang River Bridge and the scenery on both sides can be seen at a glance. After nightfall, the lights on both sides are brilliant, which is a good time for photography enthusiasts to capture the night view.
