Qinglong Ancient Temple was originally established in the second year of the Tianbao era during the Tang Dynasty (AD 743). At its peak, the temple boasted 5048 rooms. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, the temple was honored by the emperor’s visit, who personally inscribed the plaque ‘Jing Yan Shou Xiang’ and bestowed the temple’s name – ‘Ji Yun Chan Si’. At that time, Qinglong Ancient Temple was known as ‘the Buddha’s corner, the might of the world’, and was one of the famous Buddhist forests in Jiangnan. The temple is open all year round from 07:00 to 17:00, with specific business status subject to the daily opening conditions.
