The Qingming Bridge Ancient Canal Scenic Area is located in the heart of Wuxi City, where ancient water town architecture and authentic old residences form a district together. The area boasts both visitable attractions and a variety of bars and restaurants. The night view here is even more enchanting than the day view, with the lighted houses adorned with white walls and black tiles, and strings of red lanterns reflected in the canal, attracting numerous photography enthusiasts.
Sitting on a cruise boat, from Nanchan Temple Wharf to Kuatang Bridge, you will see the antique-style buildings and the commercial area of Yangchun Alley. From Kuatang Bridge to Qingming Bridge is the essence of the scenic area, known as the ‘Jiangnan Water Alley, the Ultimate Canal Land’. On the right bank, the ‘Ancient Canal City’ archway signifies the entry into the historical district transformed from old houses, where you can find many water-side beauties and small terraces along the way.
Passing Dagong Bridge, on the right bank, is the China Silk Industry Museum. After Qingming Bridge, on the left bank, is the Wuxi Kiln Site Museum. Further ahead to the Narcissus Temple, you will see the ‘Peach Tree Shade’ archway, which means the end of the district. It is recommended to take a cruise boat to Narcissus Temple and then walk back to Nanchan Temple Wharf, visiting attractions such as Narcissus Temple, Canal Culture and Art Museum, Kan Palace Firefighting Association, and China Silk Industry Museum along the way. If interested, you can also take a detour to Yangchun Alley.
