Qingshan Lake is an artificial lake located about four to five kilometers east of Lin’an city. It boasts clear and bright scenery with a vast, unadorned lake surface. A must-see attraction on the lake is the water forest, where peculiar Chinese fir trees thrive in water, lush and flourishing.

Within the scenic area, there are barbecue gardens and a small amusement park where activities such as water parasailing can be enjoyed. The primary way to explore Qingshan Lake is by taking a sightseeing boat. Tickets for boarding can be purchased at Qinshan Dock and Shenghe Dock on the south side of the lake, with boarding and disembarking at the same dock. The boat ride not only offers views of the lake but also allows for visiting key attractions such as the water forest and floating platforms along the route. There is no time limit for onshore exploration, and after the visit, one can continue the journey with the same boat ticket.

There are two types of boats available: one is a traditional Chinese-style boat, and the other is a yacht. For individual travelers, it is wise to wait for group arrivals and share the boat. 9:00 AM is the peak time for group arrivals at Qinshan Dock, which is when the success rate of sharing a boat is higher. During other times, the chances of sharing a boat are also not low, and generally, a boat can be shared within about 20 minutes.

It takes approximately 40 minutes by boat to reach the water forest, where the towering, straight trunks of the metasequoia forest in the lake water are the eye-catching scenery of Qingshan Lake and a place where almost every visitor takes photos. Near the water forest, there is an amusement park called ‘Water Forest Adventure’, where one can play games such as water rock climbing, battlefield rollers, and water soft bridges. Additionally, some water activities on the floating platform in the middle of the lake are worth participating in, such as motorboats and water parasailing, according to personal preference.

Near Shenghe Dock, there is a lawn that is a lively barbecue garden, which is popular among tourists from nearby cities for barbecues and gatherings. There are stalls for renting barbecue equipment and tents, and ingredients can be purchased at an additional cost. Moreover, there is a water stage near the lake at Qinshan Dock, where performances such as clowns and Thai transgender shows are held (around 50 yuan), and visitors can go to watch.
