Qingxi Country Park is located in the southwest of Qingpu District. It extends to Shanxingang and planned roads in the east, Lianxi Highway in the west, Nanhengang in the south, and Dianshan Lake in the north. The planned total area is about 22.35 square kilometers. The area opened in the first phase is up to 4.6 square kilometers. It opened for operation in October 2016. The park is open to the public free of charge.
Among them, the conservation area is free but tickets are required. Tickets can be obtained on site. Qingxi Country Park is the only country park in Shanghai featuring wetlands. Its diverse aquatic species can be regarded as a natural local aquatic species gene bank in Shanghai. The park is rich in species resources. Lakes, beaches, ponds, and islands are crisscrossed. Wetlands, lakes, rivers, and forests form a diverse ecosystem. Featuring wetlands, it has three functional areas. Centered around Dalian Lake, there are a demonstration area of water-town farmland, an ecological conservation area, and a fishing village leisure experience area. There are also natural villages retained inside the park. In the south-central area of Dalian Lake, there is a Lianxin Island. The aquatic forest is unique in Shanghai and is praised as a奇观 of Taxodium ascendens. Currently, there are 185 known species of birds, including the national key protected animal – Mandarin duck (Sinosiphoon jorina); there are 39 species of national second-class protected animals, such as Halcyon pileata and Milvus lineatus. The aquatic forest and numerous waterbirds also form a scenic spot in Qingxi Country Park – the sight of egrets in the forest of Taxodium ascendens. Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:30 to 16:30. The ecological conservation area (aquatic forest) stops admitting visitors at 16:00.
