Qinxi Xianggu Scenic Area is located in the northeast of Tonglu. It is on the necessary route from Hangzhou to Qiandao Lake, so it is often arranged in the same tour. Here are eye-catching green valley waterfalls. In summer, the stream is extremely cool, making it a great place for summer vacation and cooling off. In autumn, when osmanthus flowers bloom, the entire canyon is fragrant, and the name ‘Xianggu’ (fragrant valley) is truly deserved. The scenic area is not large. Walk along the winding trail by the mountain stream against the current. A round trip can complete the tour and it won’t be too tiring. Entering the scenic area, the first thing you see is a small waterfall flowing down from Cuigu Qinhu Lake. Continuing to walk up is Qinhu Lake in the shape of a Yaoqin. Passing by the waterfall, there is a ‘Longmen Bridge’ that is only wide enough for one person to pass. It is a plank road composed of cobblestone paths and wooden boards. Along the plank road, Qinxi flows gurglingly. You can also see many osmanthus trees and camphor trees. Strolling here feels very leisurely. It doesn’t take long to reach the entrance of the Zhuangyuan Shen Cave. This cave is an interesting place in the scenic area. The cave is extremely narrow. In some places, you can only crawl through on all fours. (Friends with a relatively burly figure can also detour along the path beside the cave). With the dim colored lights in the cave, it has a sense of adventure. Coming out of the cave is a not-too-high suspension bridge, which is the only way to the Zhuangyuan Ancestral Hall. This Zhuangyuan Hall was left over from the Tang Dynasty. The exterior was renovated later and looks relatively new. Although it is not large inside, Qinxi Xianggu is famous because ‘Zhuangyuan Lang’ Shi Jianwu came from here. Tourists who come here always listen to the story of this Zhuangyuan Lang leading his clansmen to cross the strait and become the pioneer in developing Penghu. At this point, all the main scenic spots in the scenic area have been seen. Later, ‘Qianqiu Spring Flow’ is a Zhuangyuan Spring. Continuing forward, ‘Hidden Dragon Exiting Gorge’ is the turning point of the tourist trail. Further ahead is an even deeper canyon and it is not accessible. You can choose to walk down the mountain along the path on the other side or take a section of zip line to experience the thrill of a rapid dive in the jungle. Motorboat surfing is also quite exciting, but children need to be accompanied by adults. The prices of zip line and motorboat surfing are both around 40 yuan. It is essential to take note that during rainy days, the paths within the scenic area can become slippery, so caution is advised when walking.
