Qiyuan Garden, commonly known as ‘Xijia Garden’, is a garden built against the mountain and by the water among all the gardens in Suzhou. Qiyuan Garden is composed of three parts: courtyard, garden and Liuyi Courtyard. Among them, Liuyi Well, the bayberry tree planted by Emperor Kangxi and the imperial dock are the ‘three treasures’ of Qiyuan Garden. In the whole garden, the four-sided hall, double corridor, turning lake, rockery and new building have a balanced composition and echo each other, which is very harmonious. Especially the ‘imperial dock’ in the garden is embedded in the rippling Taihu Lake, which is extremely poetic.
