The Qu Qiubai Memorial Hall is divided into two parts: the memorial hall and the former residence. In the memorial hall, visitors can learn about the life and deeds of Qu Qiubai, one of the early leaders of the Chinese Communist Party.
The former residence, originally built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, was the Qu family’s ancestral hall. Due to poverty, Qu Qiubai’s family once lived here, and the interior is arranged according to the layout of Qu Qiubai’s home during his lifetime. The Qu Qiubai Memorial Hall is a two-story, quadrangle-style antique building. On both sides of the hall’s entrance, symmetrically mounted copper sculptures are displayed. The main scene on the right copper sculpture depicts Qu Qiubai with Lenin, highlighting Qu Qiubai as a revolutionary, theorist, and propagandist. The main scene on the left copper sculpture depicts Qu Qiubai with Lu Xun, emphasizing Qu Qiubai as a literary figure, translator, and cultural leader. The exhibition hall contains photographs, texts, objects, and statues related to Qu Qiubai’s life and deeds, presenting the ‘Exhibition of Qu Qiubai’s Life and Deeds’ and introducing special displays such as the ‘Qu Qiubai Memorial Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition’. The former residence of Qu Qiubai was originally a private ancestral hall of the Qu family, serving as a residence for the worship and sacrifice of their ancestors. The residence is divided into eastern and western courtyards with a progressively elevated terrain, symbolizing the meaning of continuous progress. In the second part of the ancestral hall, a bronze-colored plaster statue of Qu Qiubai stands in front of the screen, depicting a youthful, elegant, and scholarly revolutionary figure. The eastern courtyard, where Qu Qiubai’s family lived from 1912 to 1916, contains over 100 pieces of furniture and utensils arranged according to the original format, either purchased or replicated. Opening hours are all year round, Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 to 16:00; the hall is closed all day on Mondays.Qu Qiubai Memorial Hall
