Red Leaf Bay is located in the central lake area of the Thousand Islands Lake Scenic Area, within the Pingfeng Scenic Sub-district, situated between Xiaojinshan Peninsula and Jinxian Archipelago, commonly known as Xiaojinshan. The main bay forms a V-shape, approximately 4 kilometers long, and it is very convenient for tourists to enter from the direction of Huangshan. Inside the bay, the water is as calm as a mirror, the lake water is clear and azure, with clear and bright reflections of the forests and mountains; the islands are crisscrossed, and the terrain is rich, featuring peaks, valleys, slopes, and known as the water maze.
According to the authorities of Thousand Islands Lake, they have spent nearly a year strengthening vegetation, adding interesting features, releasing ornamental fish and waterfowl, in order to complete the scenic area development, and to make it a suitable tourist attraction, they have stipulated that only electric boats, rowing boats, and small wooden boats, which are quieter, can enter the scenic area.
