The Rugao Museum is located on the west side of the Rugao municipal government. It is shaped like a crescent moon and surrounds the Rugao Science and Technology Exhibition Hall in front. The Rhythm of Beautiful Water has multimedia playback, figure sculptures, and a simulated Xin’an Guild Hall, etc., telling historical stories such as Liu Pi boiling salt and Doctor Jia shooting pheasants. Outstanding Figures by Beautiful Water has figure sculptures and pictures and texts, telling stories such as Dong Xiaowan and Mao Bicheng, and Chang Xing’s resistance against Japanese aggression. Ancient City and Fairyland Residence mainly simulates various natural environments and has various specimen displays, making people feel as if they are in wetlands, forests, or the ocean. Natural Treasures mainly displays calligraphy and paintings, porcelain, and seals. Among the seals, a large number are works of the ‘Donggao Seal School’. The Donggao Seal School is also known as the Rugao Seal School or Zhigao Seal School, which is unique and has a far-reaching influence. In addition, the museum also has a temporary exhibition hall.
