Ruiyun Temple, formerly known as Dengyun Temple, Huangcang Temple, and Huangsang Temple. It is also called ‘Little Baohua Mountain’ and elegantly titled ‘Blessed Land of Xiaoguo’. It is one of the eight scenic spots in Xiaocheng and is located in Huangcangyu, Xiaoxian County, Anhui Province. It was initially built during the Datong years (535-546) of the Southern Liang Dynasty. It has been about 1480 years until today.
Ruiyun Temple covers an area of more than 20,000 square meters and is located on a stone platform in the middle of Huangcangyu. Taking the scripture depository, dining hall, Mahavira Hall and abbot’s room as the axis. Surrounded by mountain streams on the left and right and connected by stone steps. There are a total of 99 halls and more than 4,000 volumes of Tripitaka, Vinaya Pitaka and Abhidharma Pitaka are stored. In 1998, Ruiyun Temple was identified as a key Buddhist temple by the Anhui provincial government. In 2006, it was listed as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit.
