Sancha River is located at the confluence of Qinhuai River, Qingjiang River, Huimin River (which was later filled and transformed into Huimin Avenue), and the Yangtze River in the west of Gulou District, Nanjing City, forming a Y-shaped river branch. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, the world’s largest shipyard at that time, Longjiang Baochuan Shipyard, was situated here. The majority of Zheng He’s fleet for his voyages to the Western Seas were built in this shipyard. The Nanjing River Crossing Victory Memorial Hall is located at the river mouth of Sancha River. It is open all year round and accessible 24/7.
