The Sanqu Stone Forest Scenic Area is located in Huibu Town, Changshan County, about 10 kilometers away from the county town, with an elevation of 518.8 meters. It is a National AAAA-level tourist attraction, a National Geopark, and a provincial scenic spot. The area is characterized by karst limestone karst landforms, integrating stone forest wonders, canyon dangers, and mountain forest wildlife into one. The Sanqu Stone Forest karst belongs to the juvenile period, mainly composed of peak clusters with micro landforms of stone buds and solution grooves. It is also a huge ancient biological reef from the late Ordovician period (440 million years ago), an important region for studying the Paleozoic history of South China. The Sanqu Stone Forest is precious due to the combination of biological reefs and beautiful karst landforms. The typical karst landforms have given birth to a variety of shapes, true and illusory, and distinctive charm of the stone forest maze, with solution grooves and stone buds hidden in green vines that are exquisitely beautiful. Under the influence of geological evolution, typical landform landscapes such as castle stone forests, patio stone forests (sinkholes), Xiaogushan karst depressions, wisteria canyons, and immortal caves have been formed, with various morphological expressions of animal shapes, castles, corridors, natural bridges, and these units composed of stone forests, which are called by domestic and foreign geologists as ‘rare geological landform landscapes in the world’.
