Introduction:
The Shahe Science Popularization Education Base of the National Astronomical Observatories is affiliated to the National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Originally, it was the Shahe Observation Station of the Beijing Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Located in Shahe Town, Changping County, in the northern suburbs of Beijing.
In addition to retaining the original professional instruments of the station, the base has added a small imported astronomical telescope from the United States. Visitors can operate it by themselves and take astronomical photos by themselves. There is also an astronomical knowledge exhibition hall and a modern astronomical knowledge demonstration hall.
The station focuses on the observation and research of time work, the rotation of the earth and the movement of artificial satellites. It has made great contributions to astronomical observation in China.
