This is a distinctive leisure street named ‘Shanghai 1930 Style Street,’ which is part of the urban planning exhibition hall’s display content.
During the 1930s, the avant-garde architectural trend from Europe and America was reflected in Shanghai. Along the 50-meter-long leisure street, the facades on both sides condense the architectural styles from that era, including English, French, Spanish, and Japanese styles, reflecting the urban charm of the time.
At several entrances, the iconic Shanghai residential architecture – the Shikumen lane house, is subtly integrated. For each individual building here, old Shanghai residents can identify its original prototype and origin.
On this street, there are Shanghai teahouses, tiger stoves, cafes, Shikumen parlors, and 1:1 scale old-fashioned fire hydrants, complemented by a changing sky幕, as if taking visitors back to the urban area of 1930s old Shanghai, leaving a lasting impression.
The street is open all year round from 08:00 to 22:00, with specific business hours subject to the day’s opening status.
