The Shanghai Arts and Crafts Museum is located in a garden building on Fenyang Road. Here, various exquisitely crafted carving and embroidery works, as well as folk handicrafts such as lanterns, are on display. The museum itself is also a highly artistic post-Renaissance building. Due to its similar appearance to the White House in the United States, it is known as the ‘Little White House’. The museum has three floors.

You can first go to the second floor along the external stairs. On the second floor, there are various exquisite artworks such as jade carvings, ivory carvings, wood carvings, carved lacquer, inlays, inkstone carvings, bamboo carvings, and porcelain carvings. These are exhibits worth seeing in the museum. Especially jade carvings and ivory carvings are all exquisitely crafted and lifelike. Then go to the third floor.

On this floor, you can visit handicrafts such as embroidery, costumes, and knitting. You can also see craftsmen in the studio making various handicrafts on site. When visiting, if you pay attention to the elegant decorations in the building, you will find that it is full of nostalgic atmosphere everywhere. This foreign-style building was built in 1905 and was the official residence of the director-general of the Municipal Council.

Today, there are still many unique facilities in the building. For example, the decorations and sanitary ware in the bathroom on the third floor were built simultaneously with the main building. In particular, the three-dimensional shower device and the colorful stained glass windows will definitely make you admire the design level at that time. There is also the spiral staircase from the second floor to the third floor.

With its retro appearance, it is very suitable for taking pictures. Go down to the first floor. Here, there are folk handicrafts such as paper cuttings, lanterns, and paintings on display. There is also a handicraft store where various handicrafts are sold. Some works such as paper cuttings and wood carvings are not very expensive. If you like them, you can buy one. After viewing the exhibits, you can take a walk on the large lawn in front of the small foreign-style building.

There is a small pool nearby with red carp in it.
