The Shanghai Children’s Museum is a museum for children aged 3 to 12. Here, children can learn knowledge in various fields such as ocean, aerospace, the Internet, and environmental protection. The museum has two floors in total, including areas such as the Navigation Hall, Aerospace Hall, Moon Hall, Astronomy Hall, Information Hall, and Interactive Exploration Area. Through various models, pictures, and texts, it showcases the basic knowledge and scientific principles of various fields. Among various exhibits, there are some precious real objects, such as the secondary engine of the Long March 4 rocket and the main parachute of China’s fourth recoverable satellite.


However, for children, the most interesting things here are those facilities that can be experienced personally, such as a large-scale simulated submarine device for children to observe the structure inside, moon knowledge quizzes, and earth warning devices that advocate environmental protection. The satellite launch demonstration in the Aerospace Hall is also very interesting. Children can sit on benches and watch the whole process of rocket launch.


The projection screen will also play short films and carefully explain each step of the launch. The Interactive Exploration Area is a specially designed exhibition area for preschool children.
