Shanghai is gradually entering the best period for ginkgo viewing, with most suburban areas at their peak from December 2nd to December 15th. Popular parks such as Shanghai Gongqing Forest Park, Jing’an Sculpture Park, Gucun Park, and Shanghai Concert Hall Square, as well as hotspots like Gubei Golden City Road, Century Park, and Thames Town, all offer stunning ginkgo scenery.

The thousand-year-old ginkgo tree at Fiquan Temple in Huinan Town (Shanghai’s 0002 ancient tree) and the ‘King of Trees’ in Anting Ancient Tree Park, planted during the Tang Dynasty (Shanghai’s 0001 ancient tree), are both over a thousand years old and should not be missed.
