Shanghai Greenhouse Garden

Shanghai Greenhouse Garden is located at the heart of the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Park, adjacent to the Central Lake and backed by the Twin Hills, covering an area of approximately 22,000 square meters with a total construction area of about 40,000 square meters above and below ground. It is a multifunctional ecological complex integrating sightseeing, leisure, and entertainment.

The exterior design, by transforming the old factory buildings of the former Shanghai Steel No. 3 Factory, combines historical memory with modern elements, creating a naturally elegant cloud-like curve.

Shanghai Greenhouse Garden consists of four venues, including 1 Visitor Service Center and 3 themed halls (namely Hall 1 – Seashore Sandbar, Hall 2 – Forest in the Clouds, and Hall 3 – Misty Valley). The three themed halls are categorized based on plant habitats, integrating architectural spatial structures, selecting typical ecological segments from the world’s ecosystems, and creating three environmental types: tropical arid, tropical wet shade-tolerant, and tropical wet sun-loving, to showcase tropical arid plants, tropical rainforest plants, and tropical flowering plants respectively.

The presentation aims to extend from plants to a museum culture, creating an immersive exhibition greenhouse that is both visually appealing and enjoyable. In the future, multimedia images, artistic lighting, and mobile interactions will be introduced to create a unique sci-fi and wonderful night tour experience. Stay tuned.
