The Shanghai Power Station of Art is located on the north bank of the Huangpu River in Huangpu District. It is directly opposite to the China Art Palace on the other side of the Huangpu River. The museum mainly exhibits various contemporary artworks. There are often different thematic exhibitions. You can enjoy various abstract artworks or new concept art exhibits here, fully stimulating your aesthetic sense and imagination.
The predecessor of the museum is the Nanshi Power Plant built in 1897. Its 165-meter reinforced concrete chimney stands tall and straight. You can see this factory-like building from a long distance. The interior of the museum is spacious and bright. You can see the rough steel structure beams. The traces of the renovated factory are obvious and it also has a sense of history. The exhibition halls are mainly located on the first to fifth floors of the museum. There is a cafe on the fifth floor, and the cloud restaurant on the seventh floor can provide regular meals. The exhibits in the museum are usually not fixed. There are often different thematic exhibitions. For example, art design exhibitions, portrait exhibitions of the times, Swiss landscape design exhibitions, Cartier time art exhibitions, etc. have been held.
