Additionally, several visa policies have been suspended, such as port visas, 24/72/144-hour visa-free transit policies, and specific visa-free policies for certain regions and groups. Failure to meet self-quarantine conditions may result in being transferred to designated areas, with passengers responsible for accommodation and food costs at 200 or 400 RMB per day. Quarantine measures have been extended to passengers from 24 countries, including South Korea, Italy, Iran, the Philippines, and several European and North American nations.Clearance Process at Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG):
Starting from March 23, Shanghai has initiated testing for all passengers, with only those testing negative for COVID-19 allowed to begin self-quarantine. The quarantine measures have been expanded to include 16 countries: South Korea, Italy, Iran, Japan, France, Spain, Germany, United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Austria.
Upon arrival, passengers will undergo temperature checks and complete questionnaires by customs. They will be categorized into groups based on risk level, which may result in a waiting time of approximately two hours.
The Customs will also conduct an Epidemiological Investigation and require detailed registration from passengers arriving from high-risk areas. These passengers will be given yellow, blue, or green labels to guide subsequent quarantine measures. Those exhibiting symptoms such as fever or dry cough will be referred for medical observation.
After clearing customs, passengers can collect their baggage. They will then be transported to their homes or quarantine hotels by chartered buses to minimize contact with others.
For inbound travelers not heading to Jiangsu Province in Zhejiang, special buses will be provided to take them to airports, train stations, or hotels. Passengers are advised to contact their local communities for specific instructions regarding their provinces.
