The Shanghai Railway Museum is located at the intersection of Tianmu East Road and Kangle Road. The exhibition hall building and outdoor appearance are built on its original site according to the original appearance of the Shanghai Station (old North Station) of the Shanghai-Nanjing Railway completed in 1909 with British classical architectural style. Here, you can see real locomotives, various train parts, equipment and models.
You can also operate the console by hand and experience being the driver of a bullet train. Entering the museum area, the first thing you see are two old locomotives and a classic green leather carriage. Next to it is the railway station platform, which is a good scene for taking pictures. The exhibition hall is a retro-style building. The structure and decoration inside are very nostalgic. However, the exhibition hall is not large and only has one floor. There are abundant graphic and textual materials in the museum, as well as railway publications and badges of various eras, showing the course that Shanghai and East China railways have gone through in more than 100 years. In the museum, you can see many equipment and devices related to trains and tracks, as well as direction signs used on various train carriages and daily items in carriages of various eras. But what may attract children more is probably various simulated miniature locomotive models. In addition, there is a simulated bullet train cab in the museum. You can try to be a driver and drive the train to the distance.Opening hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday all year round from 09:00 to 11:00 and from 13:30 to 16:30; closed all day on Monday all year round.
