The Shanghai Science and Technology Museum is located on Century Avenue in Pudong, and is one of the largest science education centers in Shanghai. Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-17:00 all year round; closed all day on Mondays; and during New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day, the opening hours are 08:30-17:30.


Preferential policies: Children under 1.3 meters (including) tall (accompanied by an adult, one adult can bring up to two children) enter for free; seniors aged 70 and above enter for free with a senior citizen card or ID; those aged 60 to 69 (inclusive) can purchase discounted tickets with valid identification.


Other: Seniors aged 70 and above, retired cadres, active-duty military personnel, national comprehensive fire and rescue personnel, and disabled persons enter for free with relevant valid documents; martyrs’ families also enter for free. Students aged 1.3 meters and above, minors aged 6 to 18, and full-time undergraduate students and below (with their student ID for ticket purchase) can purchase discounted tickets.


Newly added free ticket groups: Families of martyrs and families of deceased military personnel; active duty, retired, and disabled fire and rescue personnel (including government professional firefighters) and fire and rescue academy students must present valid documents for ticket inspection.


Newly added preferential groups: Families of active-duty military personnel (including spouses, underage children, adult children who cannot live independently, and parents (supporters)) are entitled to ticket discounts and must bring relevant identification for ticket inspection.


Additional note: There are no free or discounted tickets for the dome and 3D movies in the museum; infants are not allowed, and children, seniors, and adults pay the same price.

This service is a charged item, providing a guided tour service of 1.5 to 2 hours. Service time: 9:00 – 15:30.
