With the conclusion of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, Shanghai has retained the iconic ‘one axis and four pavilions’, namely the Expo Axis, China Art Palace (formerly the China National Pavilion), Expo Theme Pavilion, Expo Center and Expo Cultural Center (now Mercedes-Benz Arena). The Saudi Arabia Pavilion and the Italy Pavilion (now Italy Center) are retained. The Saudi Arabia Pavilion is renamed ‘Moon Boat’. In addition, several pavilions from Africa are transformed into Chocolate Happy Land suitable for family parent-child outings. However, compared to the盛况 of having to wait for several hours to visit popular venues in 2010, the current World Expo Park is obviously much quieter. Except for the China Art Palace which has a relatively large number of tourists every day, the number of tourists visiting the other pavilions at ordinary times is not large. The China Art Palace is divided into four floors and has 27 exhibition halls. At present, there are nearly ten thousand various collections, covering the contents of various stages of the development process of Chinese art in the 20th century. What must not be missed here is the dynamic version of Along the River During the Qingming Festival. In addition, you can also see the life styles and features of Shanghai in various eras. The Expo Axis is a huge single project in the Expo Park. According to the overall plan for the subsequent utilization of the Expo Park, the Pudong part will be retained as a whole. The Expo Axis will be transformed into a comprehensive commercial center, providing transportation, leisure, catering, entertainment and other supporting services for the surrounding hotels, office buildings and people visiting various pavilions. The previous Expo Theme Pavilion will be transformed into an exhibition venue for organizing and holding various exhibitions, large-scale conferences, business activities, cultural performances, sports events, etc. The Expo Center will be built into an international conference center, while Mercedes-Benz Arena is used as a large-scale comprehensive performing arts venue. Inside, not only large-scale concerts can be held, but there are also skating rinks, cinemas and other places for entertainment. If you are hungry, there are also some catering facilities here. In addition, the exhibition projects of the Moon Boat (formerly the Saudi Arabia Pavilion) include roof gardens, treasure theaters and art corridors, etc., maintaining the exhibition content of the Saudi Arabia Pavilion during the World Expo and presenting Saudi Arabia’s history, culture and customs to tourists in an authentic way. The design inspiration of the Italy Center comes from Shanghai’s traditional game ‘pick-up sticks’. It is composed of 20 irregular and assemblable functional modules, representing Italy’s 20 regions. The entire pavilion is like a miniature Italian city, full of traditional Italian urban elements such as alleys, courtyards, paths and squares. When visiting the current World Expo Park, there is no need to be in a hurry. You can slow down, take your camera in hand and slowly record all the pictures. However, when playing, it is recommended to wear convenient shoes and bring some water and dry food by yourself, because there are not many canteens in the park at present.
