Shanghu Water Street is located outside the main entrance on the south side of Shanghu Scenic Area. Jiangnan-style buildings with small green tiles on the roof and two-story structures are arranged along the Shanghu Lake. There are small bridges and flowing water. Occasionally, one or two pavilions can be seen. Although the buildings were all built in modern times, they also outline the unique scenery of Jiangnan. The advantage here is that you can enjoy Shanghu Lake for free. With Jiangnan-style buildings accompanying, it is not monotonous. At sunset, the setting sun shines on the lake surface, reflecting a golden red. It is very nice to take a walk here at dusk. Locals will walk their dogs and enjoy the breeze here. There are two places with better scenery in the water street. One is Wangshu Pavilion on the northwest side, which extends deep into the lake and you can overlook Fushui Villa on the opposite side. The other is the corridor bridge on the northeast side, close to the exit of Shanghu Scenic Area. There is a wooden structure eave on the three-arch stone bridge.
