Shegutai is also known as Shegutai, Shegutai, Shelutai. It is the former site of the uprising of Chen Sheng and Wu Guang. It is located in Daze Township, Suzhou City, Anhui Province. In 209 BC, Chen Sheng, Wu Guang and nine hundred people from the left side of the town went to guard the border in Yuyang. When they arrived at Daze Township, they were blocked by rain and the Daze Township Uprising broke out.

They led the people to cut wood into weapons, raise bamboo poles as flags, build altars and swear oaths to overthrow the violent Qin Dynasty. Because Chen Sheng’s courtesy name is She, later generations named the altar where they swore oaths as ‘Shegutai’. Shegutai is the source of Chinese peasant wars and peasant revolutions. It is a carrier and witness of history and a great historical monument.

In 1961, Shegutai was announced as a key cultural relic protection unit in Anhui Province. Opening hours: open all day throughout the year.
