The Shengze Lake Rose Garden, nestled by the shores of Shengze Lake in Xiangcheng District, is a haven known as the paradise of Suzhou, spanning approximately 800 acres. This integrated garden-lake ecological leisure garden is themed around the beauty of roses.
Adhering to the principles of natural ecology, the park boasts over a hundred varieties and millions of roses, including hybrid tea roses, ground cover roses, rose standards, climbing roses, miniature roses, and multicolored roses. These are artfully interspersed with a variety of ornamental green plants, creating a natural and harmonious arrangement.
Shengze Lake, adjacent to the north bank of the rose garden, is celebrated for its ecologically clear waters among the lakes of Jiangnan. Its water area covers 5 square kilometers, with water quality meeting the Class II standards of surface water environmental quality, earning it the status of a provincially protected lake.
Beyond its lakeside floral allure, the Shengze Lake Rose Garden provides a comprehensive range of experiential and visitation functions. It is segmented into five functional areas: the entrance service area, rose appreciation area, ecological science popularization area, commercial leisure area, and sports rest area. The garden is home to distinctive projects such as a bonsai garden, wooden walkways, a brick factory site, a research base, and an expansion sports field.
In 2012, the park was awarded the national 3A-level tourist attraction rating. It also serves as an environmental education base in Jiangsu Province, a Class II sports park in Suzhou, a science popularization education base in Xiangcheng District, and a social practice experience station for minors.Opening hours are from 08:30 to 17:00 all year round.
