Shijiu Lake is a boundary lake among Lishui District and Gaochun District of Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, and Dangtu County of Ma’anshan City, Anhui Province. It is also known as North Lake. Shijiu Lake has an inseparable relationship with Qinhuai River and belongs to the same river system. Here are abundant in fish, shrimp, river delicacies and various aquatic vegetables. Since ancient times, it has been an important source of income for villagers along the lake and a reliance for people in Jinling. Therefore, it is also known as ‘Nanjing’s Little Kenting, Gaochun’s Little Kamakura’. Li Bai visited here and specially composed a poem. As it is said, ‘The lake moves with the primordial qi. The misty waves are hard to stop. Turtles swim on lotus leaves. Fish play among reed catkins.’ Opening hours: Open all day all year round.
