Shi Pu Old Street, a rare collection of Ming and Qing dynasty fishing village ancient buildings, is thus named.

Originally constructed in the Ming dynasty and also known as Zhong Street, it developed during the Qing dynasty and has a history of over 600 years.

It was once a thriving commercial street with more than 100 shops including silk and cloth stores, shoe stores, copper shops, and pharmacies, composed of Wanhang Street, Fujian Street, Zhong Street, Hou Street, and Yanchang Street.

After renovation, Shi Pu Old Street has preserved the architectural style of the Ming and Qing periods.

Features such as the five ‘fire-closing gates’ built across the street, the former site of the Shi Pu Patrol Office, and the old shops on both sides all hold high aesthetic and research value.

The street is open all year round from 8:00 to 17:00.
