Shousheng Temple, originally constructed during the Chi Wu years of the Three Kingdoms period, has a history of over 1750 years. Throughout history, it has experienced periods of prosperity and decline. In the fifth year of the Jingtai era of the Ming Dynasty, a sudden flood engulfed the ancient temple, burying the thousand-pound bronze bell in the mud. It wasn’t until the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty that five individuals, including Chen Lun and Zang Baoying, undertook the temple’s reconstruction. Unfortunately, the temple was destroyed during the later stages of the Cultural Revolution. In 1995, a spontaneous donation from pilgrims from various regions enabled the temple to be rebuilt. The temple is open all year round from 08:00 to 17:00, with the actual operating status subject to the day’s opening conditions.
