Shouzhuo Garden is a typical representative of the protection and utilization model of ‘relocation’ of ancient buildings. It was launched in April 2013 with a planned investment of 100 million yuan and covers an area of 84.9 mu. It mainly relies on the research, display and derivative industries of Tao Yuanming’s culture. Taocun (Chiling Village) where Shouzhuo Garden is located is the place where Tao Gengsi, the descendant of Tao Qi, the second son of Tao Yuanming, a famous poet in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, moved. There are still a large number of historical monuments and cultural sites preserved in the village, such as the completely preserved ‘Genealogy of Tao Family’, Tao family ancestral tombs, Tao family ponds, ancient post roads on Taoling Mountain, and Tao family ancestral halls.
