The Shuanglong Scenic Area, with a created area of 7.95 square kilometers, includes natural scenic spots such as karst landforms and landscapes such as Shuanglong Cave, Binghu Cave, Taoyuan Cave, Erxian Cave, Xianpu Cave, and Shuanglongxi Canyon. It also contains red education and traditional culture scenic spots such as the former site of the Shuanglong Power Station inspected by leaders, Huang Daxian Ancestral Palace, and Zhizhe Temple. There are also outdoor hiking, vacation and leisure, and internet-famous check-in points such as Xiake Ancient Road, Lu Nv Lake, and Lotus Observation Deck. Shuanglong Cave: Named after the two stalactite dragon heads hanging at the cave entrance, which are vivid in shape. Shuanglong Cave is known as a’marvel of water and rocks’ and is one of the ‘thirty-six celestial abodes and seventy-two blessed lands’ of Taoism in China. The cave is composed of an inner cave and an outer cave. The outer cave has an area of about 1200 square meters and can accommodate thousands of people. It is commonly known as the ‘Dragon Hall’. The inner cave has an area of about 2000 square meters. Inside the cave, there are stalactites, stalagmites, stone curtains, stone pillars, and stone bells, with unique shapes and a dazzling array. To enter the cave for sightseeing, one can only lie flat on a small boat and enter against the current with the face up and rubbing against the cliff. It is thrilling but not dangerous and full of fun, which can be called a unique way of sightseeing.

Binghu Cave: Located on the south side of Shuanglong Cave, the cave entrance faces upward. It has a small mouth, a large belly, and a long body. Entering the cave is like entering a pot. In summer, the cold air inside is piercing. Hence the name. On the right side of the cave ceiling, there is a waterfall more than 20 meters in drop breaking through the rocks and flowing down directly. It is like the Milky Way pouring down, with a rumbling sound. The flying mist wets the clothes, and the momentum is extraordinary. It is a very large cave waterfall in the country. Binghu Cave not only has a silver waterfall flowing down, but also stalactites in various shapes. Looking up, there is a huge stalactite, shaped like a huge bergamot, hanging upside down beside the waterfall, adding to the momentum of the waterfall.

Taoyuan Cave: According to legend, Huang Chuping became an immortal on Jinhua Mountain. The spring and waterfall in the cave are from the small Taoyuan where Huang Daxian ascended to immortality. The ancients called it a ‘peach blossom spring separated from the world’, so it is named Taoyuan Cave. Taoyuan Cave has a unique structure and magnificent and changeable landscapes. The main scenic spots include ‘Heavenly Dog Watching the Moon’, ‘Divine Sheep Breaking through the Wall’, ‘Bergamot Flower Corridor’, ‘Nine Dragons Playing with Water’, ‘Rhinoceros Carrying Holy Fruit’, etc. Stalactites are hanging, stalagmites are standing in clusters, stone pillars are towering, and there is a dazzling array. It forms a unique underground natural scenery and can be called a ‘peach blossom spring’, which amazes tourists.

Erxian Cave: Developed in the Permian limestone stratum 280 million years ago, it is a multi-layer karst cave system eroded by an underground river. The cave is composed of three layers of karst caves, two layers of underground rivers and five corridors, and five halls. The characteristics of the cave are amazing. Natural landscapes such as stone flowers, stalagmites, stalactites, stone curtains, and waterfalls are dizzying. In particular, the grand canyon naturally formed in the cave and the crystal-clear stone flowers formed by biological algae are rare among cave landscapes in the country.

Xianpu Cave: Xianpu Cave is an underground river karst cave on Jinhua Mountain. It has a wide field of vision and charming scenery. You can look down from a height and look into the distance.

Karst cave has two major characteristics. First, there is a waterfall with a drop of 73 meters in the cave. It is currently the waterfall with a very large single-step drop in karst caves in the world. In 1999, it was included in the Guinness World Records. Another characteristic is that it is mainly for exploration and suitable for young people with an adventurous spirit.

Shuanglongxi Valley: Shuanglongxi Valley is about 4 kilometers long. The bottom of the valley is wide, about 800 meters wide from east to west. It is a typical gully landform, with two mountains夹持 and a deep ravine. The valley is lush with forests, and the original ecological vegetation is well protected. The natural environment is beautiful. Along the valley are cultural nodes and landscape sketches such as celebrity sculptures (Li Yu, Li Qingzhao, Li Bai, Xu Xiake, Huang Binhong, Yu Dafu, etc.), cliff carvings, and rest pavilions. It is both an ecological fitness corridor and a historical and cultural corridor.

Leaders inspect the old site of Shuanglong Hydropower Station: It was built in May 1958 and was the crown of the eight cascade hydropower stations built by Jinhua prefectural Party committee and county Party committee on Jinhua Mountain at that time. On March 14, 1960, leaders came here for inspection by special train and highly praised the achievements of Jinhua people in developing small hydropower stations through self-reliance and hard work. Shuanglong Hydropower Station also attracted the attention of the whole country and even the world. In 2018, the Shuanglong Hydropower Station was repaired and maintained, largely restoring the original appearance and scene of the leaders’ inspection of the Shuanglong Hydropower Station at that time.

Now. Zhizhe Temple: It was built in the seventh year of Emperor Wu of Liang in the Southern Dynasties (526 AD). It is a royal courtyard built by Emperor Wu of Liang, Xiao Yan. It is a famous Buddhist historical and cultural relic in the tourist area. It has a history of nearly 1500 years. It is also a Buddhist representative where Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism cultures in Jinhua Mountain coexist harmoniously. The main hall of Zhizhe Temple is 4256 square meters. Nine halls are combined into one. It is the largest single building of Buddhist temples in the country.

Huang Daxian Ancestral Palace: Located by Lu Nü Lake, the building faces south. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides. The ancestral palace is composed of 12 palace towers and pavilions. The seven-step progression is more than 800 meters deep. The palace and temple building covers an area of more than 5000 square meters. Huang Daxian Ancestral Palace is a traditional Taoist palace and temple building in China, pursuing a kind of artificial beauty of axisymmetry and uniformity.

Xu Xiake Ancient Road: Xu Xiake, an outstanding geographer, traveler and writer in the Ming Dynasty, came to Jinhua Mountain four times in his life. The research on karst landforms is Xu Xiake’s main scientific research achievement in his life. The starting point is Jinhua Mountain. Xu Xiake Ancient Road was the official road from Luodian to Shuanglong in ancient times. Xu Xiake climbed Jinhua Mountain for travel and scientific research. In order to carry forward Xu Xiake’s spirit of patriotism and dedication to science, the first phase of the restored section from Bailuxia to Yangjiashan is 3 kilometers long. Surrounded by two mountains, along the way, there is the tinkling of springs, the singing of birds and the fragrance of flowers. The scenery changes with each step, making people feel relaxed and happy.

Lu Nü Lake: With an altitude of nearly 600 meters, it is a rare alpine lake in Zhejiang Province. The lake surface is like a mirror embedded in the green mountains. The lake water is clear as a mirror, and the reflections of peaks are like paintings.
The Lu Nu Lake lakeshore walkway and the 3000-meter water-friendly plank road have created a lakeside landscape belt, featuring areas such as the Metasequoia Forest Plank Road, the Flower Sea and Stone Wave Area, the Juyan Tribute Tea Industry Area, and the Waterfront Beach Leisure Area, highlighting the scenic area’s characteristics of ‘mystical mountains, sacred waters, and secluded forests’. Surrounding the lake, there are Huang Daxian Cultural Landscape nodes, divided into dynamic, static, elegant, leisurely, and gathering functions, where natural ecology and human activities complement each other. Visitors can enjoy cooling off from the heat, taking a break, experiencing wellness, strolling around the lake, wedding photography, lake sightseeing, and experiencing Huang Daxian and Confucian cultures.

Lotus Viewing Platform: The platform is adjacent to Yu Ping Mountain in the east, Tiger Rock facing Yuanbao Mountain in the south, Tiger Tail Mountain in the west, and backed by Lotus Flower Holding in the north. It is nestled in the mountains and wilds with an elevation of 812 meters, offering a broad view. Standing on the platform, one can closely observe the mysterious sacred stones and, from afar, take in the charm of the surrounding hundred miles; enjoy the blooming mountain flowers in spring, the lush green mountains in summer; appreciate the flower-like red leaves in autumn, and the silvery radiance of thousands of trees in winter.
