Shuǐmò Tīngxī Scenic Area is located 35 kilometers south of the Xuānjīng Highway. Winding in from the highway, the route is entirely mountainous, making it a secluded gem with few visitors. The entire scenic area is a canyon characterized by its pristine natural scenery, with flowing water and bamboo forests accompanying the trails, and waterfalls visible from time to time. There are also recreational facilities such as rafting and paragliding, making it ideal for a weekend getaway.
The area is 4.2 kilometers long for visitors to explore, with minimal inclines, making it easily accessible even for the elderly. You can take a sightseeing vehicle to the deepest part for a one-way fare of 10 yuan, and then walk back, enjoying the beautiful scenery of mountains and waters. If you’re lucky, you might spot salamanders in the streams. For thrill-seekers, the ‘First Flight of Nanshan’ paragliding experience is available, hanging from a zipline, with a reference price of 60 yuan. The ‘First Drift of Nanshan’ rafting is only available in the summer, with a reference price of 100 yuan. Local farmhouses within the scenic area offer food and accommodation, where you can taste local delicacies such as native chickens, although the prices are on the higher side. Given the excellent surrounding environment, it is recommended to stay within the scenic area for two days if time permits, breathing in the fresh air in the morning and enjoying ‘Tīngxī Lánxiāng’ tea, brewed with Nanshan spring water in the evening, for a very pleasant experience. Opening hours are from May 1st to October 31st, 08:00-18:00; and from November 1st to April 30th, 08:30-16:30.Favorable policies include: Children under 1.2 meters (not including) enter for free; those between 1.2 meters (including) and 1.5 meters (including) receive discounted tickets.
