Shungeng Mountain, originally the boundary between Changfeng County of Hefei and Huainan City, is now incorporated into Huainan City, becoming a city mountain situated between the eastern and southern urban areas of Huainan. In September 1992, it was approved by the Ministry of Forestry as a National Forest Park, with a planned area of 38,000 mu. The scenic area boasts lush forests, neat forest landscapes, shaded paths, and winding trails leading to secluded spots, attracting visitors all year round. It is a popular destination for camping and summer retreats for urban dwellers.

The main attractions include the beautiful peaks and strange rocks of Dongshan and Luoshan, springs, caves, lakes (Quanshan Lake and Laolongtan), and ancient trees as part of the natural landscape, as well as the remains of ancient temples, old fortresses, horse racing sites, revolutionary activity sites, Japanese bunker groups, ancient tomb groups, ancient battlefield sites, and ancient buildings as part of the cultural landscape.

The area is open year-round from 08:00 to 19:30, with details subject to the public notice of the scenic area.
