Twenty-Four Bridges is a significant attraction within Slender West Lake. The original bridge from history no longer exists, and what we see today is a reconstructed one. The name of the bridge is derived from a verse by the Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu, which reads ‘On the night of twenty-four bridges under the bright moon, where is the jade-like person teaching to play the Xiao?’ The Twenty-Four Bridges is a single-arch bridge with white marble railings, measuring 24 meters in length, 2.4 meters in width, with 24 railing pillars and 24 steps, all corresponding to the number ‘twenty-four’. Standing at the Twenty-Four Bridges, one can see the Xichun Platform, topped with green glazed tiles and adorned with vermilion doors and windows, which are vibrant yet maintain an ancient elegance. In addition to the Xichun Platform, Wangchun Tower and Linglong Garden are also nearby attractions to the Twenty-Four Bridges. The site is open all year round and accessible 24/7.
