Located in the Confucian Street Lu Gong Temple Alley within the city area, built in the tenth year of the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty (AD 1531), it is a temple established in memory of Lu Xiu, the last Prime Minister of the Southern Song Dynasty and a patriotic national hero. The Lu Gong Temple covers an area of 1500 square meters with a construction area of 554 square meters, featuring a ‘three progressions and two side rooms’ layout.
The entire architecture and its decoration fully reflect the style and characteristics of ancient Chinese architecture from the Ming and Qing dynasties, exuding solemn elegance and simple grandeur. The first progression serves as the entrance hall, where the original ‘Song Prime Minister Lu Gong’s Temple’ inscription is preserved in the center; the second progression is the Admiration Hall; and the third progression is the Haoran Hall. The temple also houses numerous ancient and modern inscriptions, displays of ancient wells through the generations, famous couplets, and historical materials and research data related to Lu Xiu.
