Located in the Siming Mountains, 20 kilometers southwest of the Hemudu Site, there is an ancient and beautiful village known as Song’ao Village, which is composed of three natural hamlets. Situated at the source of the Yao River and under the jurisdiction of Lubu Town, Lubu has been renowned for its beautiful landscapes, fertile land, pleasant climate, profound culture, and abundant resources since ancient times.

As one moves upstream along the stream in Song’ao Village, one can witness birds flying over the water, stone crabs crawling, and loaches leaping. In the past, with fish swimming in the water and people walking on the roads, the terraced fields, morning mists, and sunsets were a feast for the eyes. Arriving at the bottom of the village, which is the source of the stream, one can appreciate the scenery at the headwaters of Lubu Reservoir. The source of Lubu Reservoir is also the source of the Yao River, and the source of the Ningbo Yongjiang River. Above these three sources, the taste of the water is naturally rare.

At the bottom of the village, there are about 20 households belonging to the same Fang family. Here, one can find old ancestral halls, old wooden and stone houses, small stream docks, and ducks enjoying the warm water, making it the backyard garden of Song’ao Village and a well-deserved Eastern Zhejiang Shangri-La. Open all day from January 1st to December 31st.
