The Songgang Cultural and Art Center is one of the major livelihood projects in Bao’an District. The main building project is divided into two parts: the library and the comprehensive building for mass art. It has five floors above ground and one floor underground. The library area is 8,856 square meters and can hold more than 200,000 books. The second and third floors are reading rooms. The fourth floor is an electronic reading room, training room, local literature room and audio-visual room. The comprehensive building for mass art contains multiple functional rooms. The fourth floor is a cinema. The architectural design is in the shape of a dragon boat, interpreting the inheritance relationship of Songgang’s culture from ancient times to the present, reflecting the city’s cultural heritage and spiritual accumulation. It has become a cultural sculpture with artistic characteristics in Songgang and also brings a cultural and artistic feast to citizens.
