The Southeast Lake Area of Thousand Islands Lake encompasses three islands: Huangshanjian, Tianchi Island, and Guihua Island, and similar to the Central Lake Area, it features a public boat route for island touring. Huangshanjian offers a panoramic view of the islands that rivals the scenic view from Mei Feng. Comparable to Mei Feng Island in the Central Lake Area, Huangshanjian allows visitors to ascend and overlook more than 900 islands of various sizes. Behind it lies the picturesque mountains of Xianshan Peninsula, with a cable car service for convenience. Tianchi Island is an artificial mountain pool formed from a deep pit left by stone mining during the Southern Song Dynasty, which later became submerged by water. In addition to the celestial pool, the island boasts natural attractions such as waterfalls and stone gardens. There are multiple docks on the island, and visitors should pay close attention to the guide’s instructions before disembarking to avoid confusion. Guihua Island, once the earliest developed scenic spot in Thousand Islands Lake, is known not only for its wild osmanthus but also for the monkey troupe relocated from Monkey Island in the Central Lake Area in 2015, offering animal performances for visitors to enjoy.
