The Southern Song Imperial Street intersects with Hefang Street. It was originally the central axis of Lin’an City in the Southern Song Dynasty. Later, it was redesigned and renovated by architect Wang Shu. The original old houses were repaired and flowing water landscapes were added, making it a bustling and quaint commercial street today. The section from the Drum Tower to West Lake Avenue is the main tourist area of the Southern Song Imperial Street. Although many chain stores have settled on this old street, there are still many local characteristic old shops retained here, such as Wanlong Ham Shop and Yangtang Restaurant. The Southern Song Imperial Street Museum, Xiaofeng Bookstore, Phoenix Mosque (a relatively large mosque in Hangzhou), and Phoenix Mosque Halal Restaurant are also on the Southern Song Imperial Street. Open all year round and open all day.
