Located at the northern end of the Central Square on Xingfu Road in Suqian City, the Su Bei Great Battle Memorial Hall is a part of the cultural and scenic tourism area. It is a new scenic spot in Suqian City that combines parks and cemeteries. The park contains seven martyrs’ monuments, memorial towers, statues, and a revolutionary cultural relics exhibition hall, along with various modern buildings. It serves as a place for paying respects to the martyrs, learning about revolutionary history, and for tourism and rest.
Upon entering the memorial area, one encounters the Su Bei Great Battle Memorial Tower. The tower stands 33.12 meters tall, with a base platform covering an area of 5500 square meters. On the wall of the east gate, there are 29 statues of heroic figures from the Su Bei Great Battle, each with distinct and lifelike postures. Every year during the Qingming Festival or significant holidays, local government agencies, military units, and schools hold memorial gatherings here. The Su Bei Great Battle Memorial Hall was completed in 1978, with a construction area of 1920 square meters. The exhibition content of the hall is divided into two main parts: the first part is the display of materials from the Su Bei Great Battle, occupying 10 exhibition halls, with over 930 pieces of images, scenes, artifacts, and revolutionary cultural relics on display; the second part is the display of materials on the revolutionary struggles in the Suqian area and the support for the military, occupying two exhibition halls, with 305 pieces on display. Each relic and every precious photograph recreates the intense scenes of the seven-day and seven-night battle. In the western end of the second floor of the Su Bei Great Battle Memorial Hall, American-style equipment such as light machine guns, heavy machine guns, and steel cannons are displayed as war trophies. In 1984, to welcome the National Martyrs Cemetery Management Work Site Meeting in Suqian, seven new martyrs’ monuments, pavilions, and statues were added to the memorial area, achieving a comprehensive配套 of stele, pavilion, tower, and hall. The opening hours are closed all day on Monday throughout the year; open from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00 on Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year.
