Sun Yat-sen University North Gate Square is located at the front of the North Gate of Sun Yat-sen University (north), directly reaching the Pearl River bank, covering an area of 17,000 square meters. It consists of the university’s emblem, motto, and history. The square not only highlights the historical charm of Guangzhou as a renowned city but also maintains the characteristic of Sun Yat-sen University’s riverside location, safeguarding the spirit and tradition of the university.
The Sun Yat-sen University archway is the eye-catching building in the square, featuring an antique double-layered archway. Historically, due to the waterway transportation from Zhongda Wharf to Tianzi Wharf, the main buildings on campus were all facing south, with the North Gate being the main entrance. The opening time is from January 1st to December 31st, open all day.
