Suzhou China Flower Botanical Garden is located in the middle of Xiangcheng District, Suzhou City. It covers an area of about 3,000 mu. It is an urban ‘Hundred Flower Garden’ with various flowers as the theme. It is also a natural wonderland where tourists can feel the ‘urban green lung’ and ‘natural oxygen bar’. The garden is composed of multiple specialized flower gardens (corners) such as azaleas, flower plums, hibiscus, peonies, cherry blossoms, roses, black pines, and native tree species. More than 1,800 species and over 1 million plants of famous flowers and trees from all over the world have been introduced. In particular, among the century-old flower trees transplanted in the Flower King Corner, the 800-year-old Tangdi and Bischofia polycarpa, the 400-year-old osmanthus and Acanthopanax senticosus, and the millennium crape myrtle king known as the ‘treasure of the garden’ are extremely rare in the world. According to different seasons, the garden launches theme flower exhibitions such as tulips, peonies, azaleas, and crape myrtles. Nearly a thousand varieties and millions of flowers and trees and shrubs are planted in the flower botanical garden, including apricot blossom, magnolia, begonia, cherry blossom, peony, azalea and other flower gardens and foliage tree areas. Flowers can bloom every month and be enjoyed in every season. Especially in the warm spring, the flower trees and flowers all over the park bloom competitively and interweave into a colorful sea of flowers. During the flower viewing season from March to May, coming to the botanical garden, you can enjoy the initial blooming of magnolias and the spring rain with apricot blossoms; the beautiful begonias and the romantic peach blossoms; the flying cherry blossoms and the national beauty of peonies; the fragrant Michelia and the azaleas like rosy clouds; the brilliant Weigela florida, the snow-like Viburnum macrocephalum, and the romantic roses. The second floor of the tourist center of the park is a plant specimen exhibition hall and research center built by making full use of the scenic area’s plant resources, infrastructure and digital application technology.
