Suzhou China Flower Garden is located in the central urban area of Xiangcheng District, Suzhou City, covering an area of about 3000 acres. It is a city’s ‘Hundred Flower Garden’ themed on various types of flowers and also a natural wonder where visitors can experience the ‘urban green lung’ and ‘natural oxygen bar’. The garden consists of several specialized flower gardens (corners) such as azalea, plum blossom, hibiscus, peony, cherry blossom, rose, black pine, and local tree species, introducing more than 1800 varieties and over one million plants of flowers and famous trees from around the world. Particularly rare are the century-old flowering trees in the Flower King Corner, including the 800-year-old kerria and cornus, the 400-year-old osmanthus and eleutherococcus, and the ‘treasure of the garden’ – the thousand-year-old crape myrtle king.
According to the different seasons, the garden introduces themed flower exhibitions such as tulips, peonies, azaleas, and crape myrtles. The Flower Garden has nearly a thousand varieties of flowers and trees, including apricot, magnolia, begonia, cherry blossom, peony, azalea, and other flower gardens as well as a leafy tree area, allowing for blooming every month and赏花 every season. Especially in the warm spring, the flowering trees and flowers scattered throughout the park compete to bloom, creating a colorful sea of flowers. During the flower viewing season from March to May, visitors to the Botanical Garden can appreciate the initial bloom of magnolias, apricot blossoms in the spring rain; the red makeup of begonias, the brilliance of peach blossoms; the dancing cherry blossoms, the national color of peonies; the fragrance of gardenias, the rosy azaleas; the bright ribbon flowers, the snow-like nanking cherry, and the romance of roses.
On the second floor of the park’s visitor center, a plant specimen exhibition hall and research center are created by fully utilizing the plant resources, infrastructure, and digital application technology of the scenic spot. The opening hours are from 08:30 to 17:00 all year round.
