The Suzhou Grand Canal Heritage Exhibition Hall is located opposite to the ancient city wall of Xumen across the river. It has two floors with a total construction area of nearly 800 square meters, of which the main exhibition area is about 600 square meters. The exhibition takes the historical development of the Suzhou section of the Grand Canal as the context. It uses methods such as layout, models and scenes, and combines multimedia, videos and black-and-white old photos to fully reflect the authenticity, integrity and outstanding universal value of the heritage of the Suzhou section of the Grand Canal. It vividly reveals the close relationship between the Grand Canal and the ancient city of Suzhou, as well as the internal connection between the canal water system and the world cultural heritage – Suzhou classical gardens. Opening hours are from 9:00 to 17:00. Closed on Mondays and Thursdays.
