Suzhou Imperial Kiln Brick Museum (also known as Suzhou Imperial Kiln Site Park) is located on Yangcheng Lake West Road, Xiangcheng District. It is designed by renowned architect Liu Jiakun. The museum mainly showcases the refining process and profound historical and cultural connotations of ‘imperial kiln bricks’. The museum consists of a tourist service center, an exchange center, the main museum building, and supporting service areas.
The main museum building is the core building of the entire museum. Through three levels, it completely presents the different stages of ‘creating things’, ‘forming utensils’, and ‘being put to use’ of imperial kiln bricks. It uses various exhibition methods such as cultural relics display, scene restoration, technological simulation, and interactive games to progressively vividly reproduce the refining process of imperial kiln bricks from the regional material raw material – yellow clay on the shore of Yangcheng Lake to the high palaces of the dynasty and becoming the ‘imperially ordered materials’. Opening hours: Open all year round from 09:00 to 16:30. In case of major events or important equipment and facility maintenance, the museum may be temporarily closed as needed.
