Suzhou Pingtan Performance

The Suzhou Pingtan Museum houses over 12,000 valuable historical materials of various types of Pingtan, including hundreds of unique editions and scripts. The exhibition primarily features Pingtan historical artifacts, audio-visual materials, and combines modern technological methods to restore and display the famous artists, schools, and artistic performance characteristics of Suzhou Pingtan. Originally, there were Pingtan and Kunqu performances to watch in the museum, but now the performances have been relocated.

The Suzhou Pingjiang Cultural Center at No. 38 Daru Lane mainly hosts Pingtan performances, which are usually held when there are guests. The Kunqu Opera House at No. 189 Pingjiang Road mainly features Kunqu performances, with fixed performance times. The museum is open year-round from Tuesday to Sunday from 09:00 to 17:00; it is closed on Mondays, except for national holidays.
