The Suzhou Pingtan Museum houses more than 12,000 precious historical materials of various kinds of Pingtan. There are several hundred rare copies and scripts of various Pingtan. The exhibition mainly features physical historical materials and audio-visual materials of Pingtan, and combines modern technological means to restore and display the famous Pingtan artists, schools, and artistic performance characteristics.
Originally, there were Pingtan and Kunqu opera performances to watch in the museum, but now the performances have been relocated. The Pingjiang Cultural Center at No. 38 Daru Alley mainly has Pingtan performances. Generally, there are performances only when there are guests. The Kunqu Opera Museum at No. 189 Pingjiang Road mainly has Kunqu opera performances. The performance time is fixed. Opening hours: closed all day on Monday throughout the year; open from 09:00 to 17:00 from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year.
