Suzhou Pingtan, a collective term for Suzhou storytelling and Suzhou ballad singing, is a traditional performing art and narrative form that uses the Wu dialect for oral storytelling and dramatic performances. Originating and popular in Suzhou, as well as in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai regions, Pingtan boasts a long history and was already quite popular during the Qing Qianlong period. It has been selected as an intangible cultural heritage. The opening hours are subject to the actual operating status on the day.
