Suzhou Taihu Lakebin National Wetland Park, also known as Taihu Park (Water Windmill), is a separate entity from Suzhou Taihu National Wetland Park. Located adjacent to the Dongshan and Xishan scenic areas, it stretches 2 kilometers from the east at the entrance of Taihu Landscape Avenue’s Water Windmill to the west at Taihu New World, covering an area of approximately 5 square kilometers and serving as the core section of the Taihu Landscape Avenue. Standing by the Taihu Lake, the large water windmill is the park’s iconic attraction and a prime location for photography enthusiasts to capture the lake.
The park is composed of eight major scenic spots: Windmill Silhouette, Pier Exploration, Leisure Twin Pavilions, Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea, Seagulls and Egrets Returning Home, Reed Maze, Fishing Boats Singing at Dusk, and Sunset Tide Listening. Primarily serving as a habitat for birds and fish, the park is open year-round from 08:30 to 17:00.
Preferential Policies: Children: Free for those under 1.4 meters in height or under 6 years old; discounted for minors aged between 6 and 18 years old with valid identification. Elderly: Free for those aged 70 and above with an elderly card or ID; discounted for those aged between 60 and 70 with an elderly card or ID. Disabled: Free entry for those with a disability card, and one accompanying person for severely disabled individuals. Military: Free for active-duty military personnel of the People’s Republic of China (with officer’s ID) and retired military personnel with preferential treatment certificates. Retired military cadres: Free with valid identification. Students: Discounted for full-time undergraduate students and below.
